What Is A Particle? Particle Composition
What Is A Particle? Particle CompositionThere are a lot of different types of chemistry that can be used to create various substances in the lab. Chemistry plays a huge role in all areas of science and is considered by many to be the basis for understanding why things work the way they do. Below we have listed the different types of chemistry and their definitions.Molecules: This is where two or more atoms that are chemically bonded will have one of them in an acid state. An example of this would be water molecules. Acidic, or base based, molecules such as hydrochloric acid and basic, or salt based, molecules such as sodium chloride.Molecules in a liquid: These are defined as being 'solid' at room temperature. Molecules in a liquid will usually consist of hydrogen and oxygen atoms with carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus, iron, and aluminum. Chlorine is considered to be a good example of a gas molecule, with one lone oxygen atom attached to carbon atoms. The atoms that make up these molecules are closer than water molecules to each other, but not as close as water molecules to each other.Strong Bonds: This is an important part of all compounds that can be found in nature. This means molecules that are composed of multiple atoms that are attached together. Most examples of strong bonds that occur in nature are found in proteins, which are the building blocks of most all cells in our bodies. The strong bonds that exist between a single carbon atom and multiple oxygen atoms are known as alkyl groups.Hydrocarbon Molecules: This is the main component of most petroleum products that we are familiar with, such as gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and ethane. Hydrocarbons are also sometimes referred to as fatty acids because of the common place this compound is found in foods such as baked goods, candies, ice cream, and even certain kinds of meat and poultry. The main difference between hydrocarbons and other types of molecules is that they are long chains of carbon atom s that are connected by hydrogen bonds.Paraffin: Paraffin is simply wax with a thin coat of oil on it. Paraffin can also contain trace amounts of other compounds that have been altered from the original substance. Examples of this would be car wax, nail polish, nail oil, and the like.Semi-solid form: These are generally considered to be non-covalent in nature. Semi-solid forms are formed when a compound is mixed with its own component. For example, ethylene is a chemical that is found in gasoline, but when you put it into your engine it forms ethane. Semi-solid forms are also made up of several types of compounds, such as ethylene glycol, methanol, and ethanol.Solid form: There are various combinations of molecules that can exist. This means that if a molecule can have different parts that will allow it to interact with another molecule or not, it will actually form a solid. The common examples of this are resins, plastic, and rubber.

How to Save Money on Utility Bills
How to Save Money on Utility Bills creditreport.com Not only is being conservative with your energy use good for your wallet, itâs good for the environment too. Thinking about your effect on the environment might only be a tiny blip on your mental radar, but itâs definitely worth considering. By consuming less power, less toxic fumes will be released into the air by power plants, which will help to conserve our planetâs natural resources and protect ecosystems from certain destruction. Read on to learn ways to be conservative and efficient, and youll be able to save more than one type of green! Be In The Know Call up your utility provider and ask them for a free appraisal. An employee will come out to your house and apartment and evaluate the location for what is using the most power. After the appraisal, the worker will be able to inform you of what is taking up the bulk of your utility bill. Once youâre in the know, you can take further steps to reduce your usage, thus cutting down on your utility bill. Depending on where you live, you might be able to compare quotes from different companies to see which utility plant has the best option for you. Unfortunately, if you live in a large city, which most college students do, youâre most likely limited to the official power plant of that city. Be Conservative Another good tip is to be conservative with your resource utilization. Take what your parents said into great account: Donât leave the water running, turn the lights off after you leave a room, etc. A good rule of thumb is to make sure everything that isnât in use gets turned off. Before you leave the house, make sure everything is shut down and unplugged. Make sure that none of the faucets in the house are dripping water. Turn off the air conditioning unit before you leave, but only if nobody else is home. Unplug your cell phone charger whenever itâs not in use. Remember that while objects are plugged into the wall, theyâre sucking up energy. Decide what should remain unplugged and what shouldnât according to that logic. twitter.com When doing laundry, make sure youâre not using more water than you have to by paying close attention to the diagram underneath the lid. Most washing machines will have an illustration indicating what washing settings are most appropriate for specific load sizes. Make sure youâre following those instructions to prevent using more resources than you really have to. Instead of taking baths, take quick showers. Baths tend to use up more hot water, thus adding more money to your bill. Be sure to educate your roommates on your new conservation plan as well. You wonât want to be the only one following your conservation plan when everyone else is still stuck in their old habits. Be Efficient Even though it might seem like your quality of living has been reduced by changing your power and water usage so much (No more bubble baths? Câmon!), there are ways to supplement your reduced energy usage. The key is finding energy efficient appliances and shopping green to save your green. Use energy efficient lightbulbs or even candles if youâre dedicated. Purchase power saving televisions and entertainment products that utilize LCD screens rather than plasma screens. A good purveyor of energy saving goods to check out is EnergyStar appliances. EnergyStar sells green everything: washers, dryers, refrigerators, televisions, computers, central air conditioning and more. EnergyStar has saved $362 billion on utility bills since 1992, so check out their website and see what they can save for you. By following these tips with discipline and dedication, youâll find yourself with a less heinous bill every month and a much happier and healthier planet to go along with it.

TakeLessons Review ShowScoop Presents Concert Reviews
TakeLessons Review ShowScoop Presents Concert Reviews Suzy S. Imagine youre in a new city, looking for somewhere to eat. You and your buddies decide that Mexican food is what you want, and you see a few options down the road. Sure, you can look at their menus, but how do you really know which restaurant is better? Many people in this situation might turn to Yelp, the website that allows users to write reviews for everything from dentists to dollar stores. In this generation, when sharing your opinion with strangers is almost expected, word-of-mouth recommendations coming from social sites like Yelp are usually held at a much higher regard than any paid advertising. Now, lets flip this into the music scene. Youve heard all about that awesome new band thats topping all the charts. As polished as they sound on the radio, how do you know what theyre like at a live show? Do they kill it on stage, or do they leave you wondering what just happened? Is it worth your hard-earned cash, or are you better off paying a $5 cover to hear a lesser-known band at the dive bar down the street? Enter ShowScoop, the newest social platform to join the scene. The idea: members can review live shows and music festivals theyve attended, rating bands on things like sound quality, stage presence and crowd interaction. In addition to the concert reviews, ShowScoop also offers an exclusive community feel for its members. You can keep track of what shows youve been to, and also see which shows your friends have attended. And similar to Yelps Elite status, members with the most reviews may eventually gain access to private parties and VIP events. And there you go never be disappointed at a live show again. Or at least thats what theyre hoping to achieve. The website is still in its initial launch (as of today, it had a little over 100 reviews in total), but we think its an interesting concept. The power of peer-to-peer reviews is undeniable but would you really let a couple of bad reviews sway you from seeing a band? Just because they were off during one show, does that mean you wouldnt give them a chance? Readers, we want to know your thoughts. Would you use or rely on these reviews to make your ticket-buying decisions? Leave a comment below, or stop by our Facebook page to join the discussion!
